Gardn is operated by Gardn Labs Limited. This page explains how to request deletion of your Gardn account and associated data.

Delete your account in the app

You can request account deletion inside the Gardn app:

  1. Open Gardn.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Choose Account.
  4. Choose Delete Account.
  5. Confirm the deletion request.

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Request deletion by email

If you cannot access the app, email us from the email address linked to your Gardn account:

We may ask you to confirm control of the account before deleting it.

What we delete

When your account is deleted, we delete or queue for deletion the personal data associated with your account, including:

  • account profile data, including your email address, display name, and date of birth
  • garden records
  • plant records
  • garden geometry
  • precise location and coordinate data, including the device coordinates stored against your gardens
  • care history
  • photos you uploaded
  • wildlife records
  • audio recordings, including bird "Listen" audio windows and any audio attached to wildlife sightings
  • community posts, comments, profile content, and direct messages tied to your account
  • community data tied to your account
  • notification preferences and device tokens

What we may keep

Some records may be retained where we have a legal, security, or accounting reason to keep them, including:

  • subscription and payment records required for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, and platform billing records
  • anonymised analytics that can no longer be linked back to you
  • aggregated research or commercial datasets that cannot identify you
  • server logs, crash logs, and backups until their normal retention period expires

How long deletion takes

Personal data is queued for deletion within 30 days of your request.

Backups and processor logs may take up to 30 days to expire through normal retention cycles. Subscription records may be retained for up to 7 years where required for legal and accounting purposes.
