Gardn
Last updated: 2026-06-09
Version 1.2
At a glance
- You must be 18 or over to use Gardn.
- Pricing: Gardn is free to use, with an optional Premium subscription — from £6.99/month or £49.99/year (prices are shown in your local currency by the App Store or Google Play). It renews automatically unless you cancel, and is billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Free Premium preview: When you first sign in, you receive a 7-day Premium preview at no charge and with no card required. It ends automatically — you do not need to cancel, and you will not be charged. To keep Premium after the preview, subscribe in the app.
- AI features are guidance, not advice. Plant and bird identifications, health checks and AI images are helpful but can be wrong. Never rely on Gardn to decide whether a plant, berry or fungus is safe to touch or eat — always check with a qualified expert first.
- Community: be respectful; no harassment or abuse. You can report content and block people, and we can remove content or messages that break the rules. Posting in the neighbourhood feed shares your approximate location with nearby users.
- Your content: you keep ownership of what you create; you give us a licence to show it in the app so the service works.
This summary is for convenience only. The full Terms of Service below are what legally apply.
1. Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Gardn app ("Gardn", "the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use Gardn.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Gardn Labs Limited (Company No. 17195491), registered in England and Wales, whose registered address is 124-128 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX ("we", "us", "Gardn").
Gardn is distributed through the applicable app store for your device — the Apple App Store on iOS and Google Play on Android. References in these Terms to "the app store" mean whichever store you obtained or use Gardn through.
2. Eligibility
Age: You must be at least 18 years old to use Gardn. By creating an account and using Gardn, you represent and warrant that you are aged 18 or over. Gardn is intended for adults and is not directed at, or available to, children. If we become aware that an account has been created by a person under 18, we may suspend or close that account.
Geography: Gardn is available in multiple countries, including the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Poland, France, Spain, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Chile. Availability of certain features may vary by location. Wherever you use Gardn, these Terms apply to you, and we handle your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy, including any international transfers necessary to provide the service.
3. Account creation and security
You must create an account to use Gardn. When registering, you agree to provide accurate and current information.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@gardn.world if you believe your account has been compromised.
You may not create more than one account or create an account on behalf of another person without their consent.
4. Subscription and billing
4a. Plans
Gardn offers two account tiers:
- Free: Access to core garden tracking and community features, subject to monthly per-feature usage allowances (see section 4d).
- Premium: Full access to Gardn's AI features with raised allowances, unlimited plants, and advanced features, billed monthly or annually through your app store.
4b. Pricing
Current Premium pricing is displayed in the App and in the app store listing. The base prices are £6.99 per month and £49.99 per year; the App Store and Google Play show and bill you in your local currency, so the exact amount you see may differ. Prices may change. We will give you reasonable notice of any price change before it takes effect.
4c. Premium preview (reverse trial)
When you first sign in to Gardn, you automatically receive a 7-day Premium preview at no charge and with no card required. During this period you have full access to Premium features. When the preview ends, your account reverts to the free tier automatically — you do not need to cancel anything, and you will not be charged. To keep Premium after the preview, you must actively subscribe in the App.
4c-ii. App store free trial (A/B)
Gardn may also offer a conventional app store free trial on selected subscription plans in addition to the Premium preview above. Where an app store free trial applies, it will be clearly labelled in the App. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before that trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid, auto-renewing subscription at the price shown at sign-up.
4d. Free tier allowances
The Free tier includes core garden tracking and community access, plus a monthly allowance for each AI feature, including:
- Ask Gardn (the AI assistant)
- Border Scan (AI garden-border analysis)
- Plant identification
- Inspire / Garden Studio (AI image and video generation)
- Bird "Listen" (AI bird identification by sound)
Premium lifts these per-feature allowances. The Free tier is also subject to a limit on the number of plants you can track. These allowances and limits may change on notice.
4e. Billing, renewal, and cancellation
Subscriptions are processed by the applicable app store — the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) — via RevenueCat, which acts as the in-app-purchase intermediary that records and manages your subscription entitlement against your account. We do not collect or store your payment-card details; these are handled by Apple or Google. You authorise the relevant app store to charge your payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) until you cancel.
Auto-renewal: Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
How to cancel:
- iOS (Apple App Store): Settings → tap your name (Apple ID) → Subscriptions → Gardn → Cancel Subscription.
- Android (Google Play): open the Google Play app → tap your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Gardn → Cancel subscription.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain Premium access until that period ends.
Refunds: We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods, except where required by applicable law, which includes your statutory rights as a consumer. Refunds for purchases made through an app store are handled under that store's refund policy — Apple's standard refund policy for purchases made through the Apple App Store, and Google Play's refund policy for purchases made through Google Play.
Price changes: If we increase the price of your subscription, the relevant app store will notify you before the change takes effect and, where required, will ask for your consent to continue.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use Gardn only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- Use Gardn for any unlawful purpose or in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Scrape, harvest, or extract data from Gardn by automated means
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of Gardn or its infrastructure
- Transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or obscene
- Harass, bully, stalk, intimidate, or send unwanted or repeated contact to any other user, including through direct messages
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
- Share your account credentials with others or allow others to use your account
- Use Gardn to send spam or unsolicited commercial communications
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of Gardn or its infrastructure
- Attempt to circumvent any subscription or usage limits
6. User Content and community
6a. What counts as User Content
Gardn includes community features organised across three tiers: a Neighbourhood feed (a location-based radius feed visible to nearby users), Friends (people you connect with), and Groups. "User Content" means anything you create, upload, post, send, or share through Gardn, including posts, comments, profile content, wildlife and garden photos, and direct messages sent to other users across any of these tiers.
By submitting User Content, you:
- Confirm you own the content or have the right to submit it
- Grant Gardn Labs Limited a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, display, distribute, and otherwise use your User Content solely for the purpose of operating, moderating, and improving the Gardn community features
- Retain ownership of your User Content
6b. Location sharing in the Neighbourhood feed
The Neighbourhood feed works by matching you with other users within a radius of your location. By posting to, or participating in, the Neighbourhood feed, you share your approximate location with nearby users, who may be people you do not know. Do not post anything in the community that you are not comfortable being associated with your approximate location. How we collect and use location data is described in our Privacy Policy.
6c. Content standards
User Content must not:
- Infringe any third party's intellectual property rights
- Include personal information about others without their consent
- Be defamatory, harassing, threatening, abusive, or bullying
- Contain spam, advertising, or commercial solicitation
- Contain sexually explicit, hateful, or violent material
- Violate any applicable law
We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour.
6d. Reporting, blocking, and our moderation rights
You can report any post, comment, profile, or direct message you consider objectionable, and you can block any user to stop them contacting you or seeing your content. Reporting and blocking are available throughout the community features.
We are not obligated to monitor User Content, but we may review, hide, restrict, or remove any User Content — including both public posts and private direct messages — where we believe, acting reasonably, that it violates these Terms, is unlawful or objectionable, or where it is necessary to keep the community safe. Removing or hiding content does not imply we have reviewed all content on the platform. The handling of reported content and messages for safety and moderation is described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Community moderation and enforcement
We moderate community content and conduct to keep Gardn a safe and useful space. Our approach is to:
- Remove or hide content (including direct messages) that violates these Terms, without prior notice where appropriate
- Warn users whose content or conduct repeatedly or seriously violates these Terms
- Suspend or permanently ban accounts that continue to violate these Terms after warning, or that commit serious single violations
We aim to act on objectionable-content reports within 24 hours of receiving them.
If your account is suspended or banned, you may contact support@gardn.world to appeal. We will review appeals at our discretion but are not obligated to reinstate accounts.
8. AI features — disclaimer
Gardn uses artificial intelligence across several features, including:
- Plant identification and health analysis (including our identification providers)
- Border Scan (AI analysis of garden-border photos)
- Ask Gardn (the AI assistant and care advice)
- Inspire / Garden Studio (AI generation of images and video from your photos and prompts)
- Bird "Listen" (AI identification of birds from recorded audio)
You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI output is guidance only. Identifications, health assessments, care suggestions, generated images and video, and bird identifications are produced by automated systems and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or wrong.
- Not professional or safety advice. AI output does not constitute professional horticultural, botanical, foraging, veterinary, medical, or safety advice. In particular, you must not rely on Gardn to decide whether any plant, fungus, berry, or other wild or cultivated specimen is edible, toxic, or safe to touch, handle, or consume. You must independently verify, using a suitably qualified expert and authoritative sources, before handling or consuming anything. Misidentification of plants and fungi can cause serious illness or death.
- Exercise your own judgement. Growing conditions and wildlife vary, and you should use your own judgement and, where appropriate, consult a qualified professional.
- Limitation. Subject to section 11, Gardn is not liable for any outcomes, losses, or damage arising from reliance on AI-generated content.
Your content leaves the App. To deliver these features, photos, audio recordings, text prompts, and related garden context you provide are transmitted to and processed by third-party AI service providers on our behalf. The processors used and the safeguards that apply are set out in our Privacy Policy, which you should read alongside this section.
Ownership of AI-generated outputs. Subject to the terms and restrictions of the underlying AI model providers, and to the extent permitted by law, Gardn Labs Limited assigns to you ownership of the images and video that Gardn's Inspire / Garden Studio features generate from your inputs, on the condition that you grant us the licence in section 6a to host and display that content where you share it in the community. You are responsible for ensuring your inputs (including photos and prompts) do not infringe any third party's rights, and your use of generated outputs must comply with any applicable restrictions of the AI model providers. AI-generated outputs may not be unique to you, and similar outputs may be generated for other users.
9. Care guidance disclaimer
Gardn provides care guidance based on your plant types, location, and conditions. All care guidance is provided on a best-efforts basis. Growing conditions vary significantly by microclimate, soil type, season, and individual plant health. Subject to section 11, Gardn is not liable for plant outcomes resulting from following or not following care guidance provided through the App.
10. Intellectual property
All content, features, and functionality of Gardn — including but not limited to the app design, software, text, graphics, logos, and original data — are owned by Gardn Labs Limited or its licensors and are protected by UK and international intellectual property laws.
Your User Content remains yours (subject to the licence in section 6a), and ownership of AI-generated images and video is dealt with in section 8. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of your User Content to us.
"Gardn" and associated branding are trademarks of Gardn Labs Limited. You may not use our trademarks without our prior written consent.
11. Our liability to you
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; and
- any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Your statutory rights. If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that these Terms do not affect. Where you pay for Premium, the digital content and services we supply must, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, be of satisfactory quality, fit for any purpose made known to us, as described, and supplied with reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude or limit those rights, and any part of these Terms that attempted to do so would not apply to you. You can find guidance on your consumer rights from your local Citizens Advice service or the Competition and Markets Authority.
What we are responsible for. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these Terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is obvious that it will happen, or if, at the time you accepted these Terms, both we and you knew it might happen.
What we are not responsible for. Except for the liability described above and your statutory rights, and to the extent permitted by law:
- Gardn is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, and we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components;
- we are not liable for loss or damage that is not foreseeable, or for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, AI-generated identifications, content, or care guidance contrary to the warnings in sections 8 and 9; and
- we are not liable for business losses — Gardn is supplied for domestic and private use, and we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.
12. Termination
12a. Termination by you
You may stop using Gardn at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account in the App and confirm. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. The categories of data deleted are described in our account-deletion notice and Privacy Policy.
12b. Termination by us
We may suspend or terminate your access to Gardn at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if we discontinue the service.
If we terminate your account due to a breach of these Terms, we are not obligated to provide a refund. If we terminate your account for any other reason, we will provide a pro-rata refund of any prepaid subscription fees through the refund process of the app store you subscribed through (Apple App Store or Google Play).
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this document. For material changes, we will notify you via an in-app notice or email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you may close your account before the change takes effect. Continued use of Gardn after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. App store terms
These Terms are entered into between you and Gardn Labs Limited, not the app store provider. Neither Apple nor Google is responsible for Gardn or its content.
Apple App Store. If you obtained Gardn through the Apple App Store: Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Gardn. In the event of any failure of Gardn to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund your purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to Gardn. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to Gardn, including product liability claims, consumer protection claims, and intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce these Terms against you.
Google Play. If you obtained Gardn through Google Play: your use of Gardn must also comply with the Google Play Terms of Service. Google has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Gardn and is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to Gardn, including product liability, consumer protection, and intellectual property claims. To the extent these Terms grant rights enforceable by Google, Google and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce these Terms against you.
This section applies in addition to the rules and policies of the relevant app store, which also govern your use of Gardn obtained through that store.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident outside England and Wales, you benefit from any mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of your country of residence, and nothing in these Terms removes that protection.
Disputes: If you have a complaint or dispute, please contact us first at support@gardn.world. We will do our best to resolve it within 14 working days.
If we cannot resolve a dispute directly, you may refer it to the relevant court. For privacy-related disputes, you also have the right to escalate to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), or to your local data-protection authority.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
